MicroGreensNH is a unique microgreen grower and
food collective located in the Lakes Regions of New Hampshire and managed by
Grower "JT" (Jeff) Thayer. As an advocation, he started in the
80's growing sprouts and seedling trees as part of a sustainable bonsai
operation. During the 90's his interest
moved to growing in integrated hydroponic systems of microgreens and tilapia
fish in a CSA model. He says: "Growing from organic, non-GMO seed is a
passion, particularly where unique vertical use of space is unitlized." After 20 years as an advocation,
JT decided to turn the passion of organic growing by specializing in
microgreens using techniques he has studied from Peter Tomkins' "The
Secret Life of Plants", "Secrets of the Soil",
Masanobu Fukuoka"s "The One Straw Revolution", Viktor
Shauberger's "Living Waters" and the "Secret Teachings
of Plants" by Stephen Harrod Buhner. These books are our bibles
for MicroGreensNH. "They will change your point of view on virtually
every plant which grows and uses water. I've done so much research and experimentation,
I feel like a MicroGreens shaman of sorts. "
"Plants respond incredibly to sound so we play
harmonic frequencies to our plants while they are growing. We also vortex spin our well water to
optimize structuring of the water and encourage a greatly stress reduced
environment. Kelp is our only fertilizer providing over 10 key micro minerals
which are bioavailable to the roots of our MicroGreens. We use soil which is blended with worm
castings and certified as organic. Our
MicroGreens are now grown in more than 9 varieties blended into Micro Asian,
Micro Rainbow and Micro White Mountain mixes.
